Job #1: Cooking Instructor

Description: Rata2ee is looking to hire 1 to 2 teachers, to teach cooking out of various metro Detroit locations, for an enrichment program over the summer. This is a position that will run between 3-7 weeks from Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 4:00 pm starting the 2nd week of June and going through the 2nd week of August. We always take the week of 4th of July off. The “Lead Teacher” hours can be from 8:15 am to 1:30 pm, but could go longer, if wanted/needed. Pay is negotiable. The right person will have the following personality: engaging, kind, and patient with kids, while keeping the classroom under control. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

Duties:

  • Class Instruction (must be able to read recipe instructions with kids, and walk them through the cooking process). Kids make a morning snack and a 3-course lunch (entree, side dish, dessert)

  • Must be organized:

    • Keep track of inventory and pick up (already ordered & paid for) groceries from GFS or Meijer

    • Organize and prep ingredients before and during class sessions

    • Keep the class moving in a timely manner (kids work at table / workstations)

    • Keep cooking areas clean (even though kids are mainly responsible for cleaning up)

  • This position is perfect for: teachers who want to supplement their income over the summer; lunch room cooks who are off for the summer; those studying to be teachers who know how to cook; anyone who has worked with children and doesn't hate cooking :-)

  • Must have a happy personality, with ability to “read” the kids and have command of the class in a friendly manner

Job #2: Camp Instructor- Support Staff

Description: Rata2ee is looking to hire several camp instructors, to teach children about healthy living, in various metro Detroit locations over the summer. This is a position that will run between 3-7 weeks from Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm beginning the second weekend of June and ending the 2nd weekend of August. We always take the week of 4th of July off. The camp instructor hours can be flexible, if needed and agreed upon and set before camps start. Pay is negotiable. The right person will have the following personality: engaging, kind, and patient with kids, while keeping the classroom under control. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

Duties:

  • Class Instruction (must be able to read and follow a syllabus / instructions with kids, and walk them through the learning process). Kids make a morning snack and a 3-course lunch (entree, side dish, dessert). You are not required to know cooking, but need to be actively engaged in helping the cooking instructor.  

  • Must be healthy enough to be up and moving around with the kids for all activities (cooking, playing / dancing, water play outdoors, light gardening and kids' yoga.

  • This position is perfect for: those in school to become teachers, teachers off for the summer who want to supplement income, college kids home for the summer, new high school graduates who are going to college in the fall.

  • Must have a happy personality, with ability to “read” the kids and have command of the class in a friendly manner.

Job #3: Cupcake Wars Instructor

Description: Rata2ee is looking to hire 2-3 people to work our Cupcake Wars Birthday parties in Downtown Rochester. These parties are typically booked during Friday & Saturday late afternoons or early evenings and on Sunday  afternoons. The right person will have the following personality: engaging, kind, and patient with kids, while keeping the classroom under control. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

Duties:

  • Class Instruction (must be able to read and follow a cupcake recipe with kids, and walk them through the learning process). 

  • Should be creative and be willing to look up and practice different themes to decorate cupcakes

  • This position is perfect for: retirees, college students who need a flex schedule, high schoolers looking for weekend work, anyone looking to pick up hours over the weekends.

  • Must have a happy personality, with ability to “read” the kids and have command of the class in a friendly manner
