Rata2ee Day Camps
One-day sessions offered on days where there would normally be school. Day Camps are similar to our Summer Camp sessions, in that a day will include cooking and nutrition lessons, a little bit of exercise, fun games to help your budding chef learn where food comes from and how it grows. This well-rounded day finishes off with kids' yoga, voted to be a kids' favorite (outside of the cooking, of course)!
A Typical Camp Day
Parents will drop off kids at 8:45 am. At 9 am there will be a general assembly to discuss the plan for the day. Kids will be divided into groups according to age and skill, and then will go to their stations:
8:45: Parent Drop-off
9:00 – 10:00 am: Healthy Snack: Make a healthy snack such as a smoothie or muffins
10:00 – 11:00 am: Go to the cafeteria for some fun exercise games
11:00 – 12:30 pm: 90-minute Cooking Lesson, where kids will make their lunch (main entree, side dish, and dessert)
12:30 – 1:30 pm: Lunch - notice they have 1 full hour to enjoy their food and chill out!
1:30 – 2:00 pm: Nutrition Games - Kids will discuss where food comes from, what makes a healthy plate, correct portion sizes
2:00 – 3:00 pm: Dessert - Kids make a fun dessert.
3:00 – 3:45 pm: Kids' Yoga - voted hands-down the kids' favorite part of camp outside of cooking!
3:45 – 4:00 pm: EOD Gathering: Kids will get together to discuss what was learned that day, gather their belongings, and prepare for parent pick-up
4:00: Parent Pick-up
